The overall enrollment trend in the CITE program has been declining over the last three academic years. The enrollment in the Cybersecurity program, since its inception six years ago, has gone up and down. We feel the reason for the decline in the CITE program is mostly due to Covid and the up and down of enrollment in the Cybersecurity program was a marketing issue.
But we saw a large increase in the Cybersecurity program this academic year, we believe, due to changing the name of the program from Network Security Administration (NSA) to Cybersecurity INFOSEC & Administration. We think having the word “Cybersecurity” in the program name was instrumental in enrollment rising this last academic year. We made the name change with the concurrence of our Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
The one other reason for declining enrollment, we think, is due to our present accreditation issues with our present NIC Board of Trustees not meeting the requirements of our accreditation body (NWCCU).
