29 Program-level Assessment Methods, Results, and Interpretation

Describe how program student learning outcomes are assessed.

Both Formative and Summative assessments are used throughout all of the courses. We also use industry standardized certification summative assessments from Cisco, Microsoft, and CompTIA. In our Microsoft and Cisco curriculums we also use project-based assessments to evaluate student learning. Along with student employment for internships and after graduating from the program.

The college is implementing SLOA (Student Learning Outcomes Assessment) recording for CTE programs. This data will be available beginning in the next academic year.

Based on the program assessment data, what learning improvements have you made?

In response to the assessment data, we have implemented practice exams that support the certifications the students will be assessed in. These assessments are provided throughout the curriculum.
