32 Resources
How could this program be enhanced or improved if it had additional resources?
Our program has the resources needed to support three full-time instructors and multiple sections of the same courses. If enrollment was grown past our current capacity, we would need more instructional staff.
Briefly list additional resources that could enhance the program (faculty, physical space, technology, marketing, etc.) and their role in program improvement. Keep in mind that the resources must be feasible.
Continued marketing of each of the two programs would help support more instructional staff. If enrollment growth put us above our maximum, which is 18 students per class, we would need larger classroom and lab spaces. The Hedlund building, which we are currently in, can accommodate larger classrooms loads. There would have to be some construction adjustments to fulfill those needs.
Describe steps taken to seek additional resources.
The CITE/Cybersecurity TAC (Technical Advisory Committee) offers hardware resources as they become available. The program regularly applies for grants from the Perkins program. This year our program was awarded an Idaho 2.0 Grant. Faculty are consistently seeking financial support through all sources available to the (equipment replacement funds, foundation grants, workforce development grants, etc.). Private donations have been bequeathed to the program.
How will this program be enhanced or improved if no new resources are available?
The programs would be and are enhanced by the instructional staff we use. Due to the nature of information technology and on-going changes to technology, staff professional development is crucial to the continued enhancement of our programs. When our instructional staff is trained in current technologies, those skills are brought into the classroom and integrated into the curriculum based our guidance from our Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). Without professional development funding, the technical abilities and caliber of the faculty will be stagnant.
