38 Review Team: What are the program’s strengths?

The committee agrees that this is a necessary and viable program to supply CTE region one with a workforce that is well trained in administrative office management technology.  Strengths of this program include:

  • Seasoned and knowledgeable faculty open to continuous program improvement
  • Course outcomes, expectations, and assessment methods in syllabi are clearly defined and compliment the program
  • Detailed reporting and data are provided on program annually
  • Articulation agreement exists for students to have the option for a clear path to continue on to a BAS degree at LCSC
  • Faculty use a variety of teaching methods and pedagogical approaches for a variety of learning styles
  • There is no cap on enrollment and fluctuations are managed through adjuncts as necessary
  • Successful and engaged TAC meetings are held bi-annually which contribute to maintaining updated curriculum and program quality
  • Robust dual credit offerings to Idaho high schools which feed into NIC CAOT programs
  • High completion rate
  • Online modality for courses assists with increased enrollment
  • Course curriculum, grading system, and internship offerings nicely complement the program outcomes
  • Feedback from student(s) is positive: courses provide practical skills used in the workplace; attentive faculty in CTE provide swift feedback; availability of online programming enhances student flexibility; syllabi for online courses are populated with assignments and due dates allowing students the flexibility to work ahead; online student stated she felt comradery with her peers and a part of the college community regardless of being a remote learner
