Skills taught in this program remain popular among students seeking to upgrade their office technology expertise or make career transitions. The program’s flexible online format further enables students to balance their education with existing work commitments and personal responsibilities.

Career Pathways and Job Placement: Graduates of the AOMT program are highly sought after by local employers, as evidenced by most graduates finding related jobs within the first few months of completing the program—and some receiving job offers before graduation. Internships play a significant role in career readiness, offering students valuable real-world experience that frequently leads to permanent employment. Employers in Region 1 highly value the technical proficiency and practical expertise of program graduates, ensuring continued demand for these skilled professionals.

Industry Demand and Success Rates:  Idaho’s demand for Administrative Assistants remains exceptionally high, ranking among the top in-demand jobs statewide. According to the Leading Idaho Occupational Outlook Data for 2023-2030, many occupations related to the Administrative Office Management Technology (AOMT) program are projected to experience significant growth. For example, employment for Customer Service Representatives is projected to grow by 11.2%, with 3,935 annual openings. Executive Secretaries and Executive Administrative Assistants are expected to see a growth rate of 13.2%, with 321 annual openings. First-line Supervisors of Office and Administrative Support Workers are projected to grow by 12.3%, with 1,453 annual openings in Idaho. Receptionists and Information Clerks are anticipated to grow by 21.7%, with 1,741 annual openings, and Office Clerks, General are expected to grow by 15.7%, with 3,524 annual openings. Additionally, the demand for Office Managers is projected to experience sustained growth, reflecting the critical role these professionals play in overseeing administrative operations and ensuring organizational efficiency.

These projections highlight the strong and growing demand for administrative professionals in Idaho, emphasizing the AOMT program’s relevance in preparing students to meet these workforce needs and succeed in high-demand careers. This alignment with regional workforce demand underscores the program’s relevance and success in preparing students for thriving administrative careers.

Transfer Pathways: The program supports seamless transfer opportunities, including dual credit articulation agreements with Idaho secondary schools. These agreements allow high school students to begin their education early, gaining foundational skills that prepare them for AOMT courses.
