You are the primary conduit of information between faculty and administration. You have the ability and responsibility to help faculty be informed about instructional and institutional decisions. Devote time at your division meetings to ensure faculty are kept abreast of information from your various meetings such as instructional leadership and management team.

Likewise, the chair is the main source of information to the Dean regarding your division, programs, and faculty. Keep the Dean informed of problems that arise and how you intend to resolve them. Don’t forget to also share positive highlights with the Dean.
