Contract Modification Form

Contract modification forms are required for any assignments that are being compensated for through reassigned time and are outside the faculty member’s job duties as stated in their job description. At the beginning of each academic year (or upon assignment) submit the proposed faculty contract modification form to the appropriate dean.

Note: Reassigned time is always part of the faculty’s full time load (15 credits) and cannot be assigned as an overload. Chairs should review load reports to assist their admin in determining which course credits to assign as overload.

RELEASE TIME EQUIVALENTS

The following assumption is for calculating release time or stipend equivalencies only and is not intended to reflect the actual time involved in teaching activities which may vary considerably among teachers and disciplines.

Assumption:

1 credit hour is equal to 15 clock hours of actual instruction and 15 clock hours of preparation. This equals 2 clock hours per week x 15 weeks/semester which = 30 clock hours/credit hour.

3 credit hour equivalency = 30 clock hours which = 90 clock hours.

One-time and on-going projects would have the credit hour equivalent determined based on estimated clock hours needed for the project.
