5 What evidence demonstrates that the program is meeting the transfer and career needs of students? Be specific.

Available data from Academic years 2017/18 to 2021/22 (years allowing time to complete a program) shows that 60% of students who declared History as their focus area continued on to a four-year institution, and 66% of those students completed a bachelor’s degree by 2022. Anecdotal evidence from students and faculty at the University of Idaho is that NIC students were well prepared, and did well, after transferring to a four-year institution. Statistics are above institutional averages, but may be skewed because of the rather low number of history students who graduate in a given year.  Data on meeting career needs is limited since this is a transfer program and North Idaho College does not have a system in place to track whether or not our students in specific programs enter careers after graduating from a 4-year institution.  Previously, multiple external program review teams recommended that North Idaho College develop a more robust student tracking system.
