Cancelations and Refunds
Class Cancelation & Refund Process
Why are classes canceled?
Every effort is made to offer all advertised classes. Credit-free courses are self-supporting (not subsidized by State monies), and all course-related expenses are paid from student registration fees. Courses that do not reach a minimum student enrollment are subject to cancellation. If this should happen, you will be notified by telephone and every effort will be made to transfer the student to another section, find an alternative course or process a refund in full.
Listed below is the optimal scenario for the student’s and instructor’s time and best interest in regards to the class cancellation:
- The class enrollments will be reviewed 5 business days prior to start. The class must meet the minimum enrollment numbers in order to hold the class. The following steps will be taken to determine if the class will meet the minimum enrollment criteria.
- If the enrollment is within 1-2 students from meeting the criteria, we will extend the decision to cancel the class in an attempt to register more students. A definite decision as to whether or not the class will proceed will be made 2-business days prior to the class start date.
- If the class has (0-1) students enrolled, past experience has shown that it’s unlikely we will obtain the minimum enrollments; therefore, the decision will be made to cancel the class.
- An email will be sent to the instructor informing them of their class enrollment status based on one of the two steps outlined above.
