Instructor Observation
PROCESS
- The coordinator will set up a time and notify the instructor of their intent to attend class and complete an evaluation form regarding instructor teaching and classroom management. This practice needs to be done at least once a year and can be done more if a coordinator feels that it is necessary.
DOCUMENT FINDINGS
- Following the observation the coordinator will set up a meeting for observation review with the instructor
- At the review meeting the coordinator and instructor will complete the Observation Action Plan form as they discuss options of continued enhancements for program growth
- Copies of the Instructor Observation results and the Action Plan will be given to the instructor and a copy will be kept in the instructor’s file.
- A follow-up meeting will be scheduled to review items that were assigned a timeline for areas of improvement (if applicable).
OBSERVATION WRAP-UP
- Once the instructor has signed off on the evaluation and action plan the coordinator will scan and email a copy of these documents to HR (Julie Bailey) asking to have them placed in the instructor’s file.
- Coordinators can maintain an electronic file of these results, once entered please shred the paper documents.
