What pedagogical approaches (lecture, class discussions, small group exercises, experiential, etc.) does the program use to serve the diverse learning needs of students?
Most face to face courses are taught in a modified lecture format. As they prepare their lessons, instructors consider how the new content will connect with what the student already knows, construct questions that will encourage deeper and more critical thinking, and example problems that students can solve with guidance, collaboration, or as an understanding check. In the classroom, along with some direct instruction, instructors incorporate collaborative learning techniques, group work, question and answer time, research and report, and student board work as appropriate to facilitate learning.
