20 Are there special admissions requirements for this program? If yes, how are these special admissions requirements (whether placement testing or prerequisites) related to student success in the program?
The program does not have special admissions requirements. However, all students must demonstrate readiness via placement information or successful completion of a pre-requisite math course prior to registration in our program courses. This is done to ensure that students begin their mathematics sequence at the appropriate level. ACT, SAT, and ALEKS PPL scores can all be used for placement into college level courses. These scores are valid for 2 years. For students whose ACT or SAT score is not high enough for placement into college level coursework or students whose ACT or SAT score has expired, the ALEKS PPL test is required for placement.
Whether in the form of a placement test or a course, prerequisites for all courses are listed in the catalog and enforced through the Registrar’s Office.
