What pedagogical approaches (lecture, class discussions, small group exercises, experiential, etc.) does the program use to serve the diverse learning needs of students?
Lecture, class discussion, small group activity, collaborative learning, in-class demonstrations, on-line simulations, and other strategies have been and continue to be used by the members of the department across the various courses offered within the department. Lecture is the predominant mode of delivery in face-to-face classes along with collaborative learning. Simulations of statistical concepts are frequently a part of instruction in the research course. On-line classes have a stronger writing component with one faculty member.
