Do you use a common textbook throughout a commonly numbered course?

We do not use a common textbook.  The practice in the department has been for tenured faculty members to independently select their own textbooks.  Adjunct members of the department need to adopt one of the textbooks chosen by the tenured members of the department.

Please describe the process you use to select textbooks.

Textbooks are chosen individually and independently by each tenured faculty member, but may be evaluated based upon the following criteria, among others:

(1) Alignment of content with course outcomes

(2) Theoretical orientation

(3) Current in content

(4) Applied resources

(5) Cost

(6) Accessibility
